It's official: I'm moving to San Francisco! - MtnVwPilot

Feb. 28th, 2006 03:48 pm It's official: I'm moving to San Francisco!

So, as I've hinted at here and there in the past few days without providing any details, I've decided to move up to San Francisco. Mountain View is nice, but I'm bored down here (I've lived in Silicon Valley since 1989, and in Mountain View proper since 1991), a lot of my social life is up there, the dating is far better up there (single straight guys are much more popular with the women in SF than in Silicon Valley! ;-) ), and I'm doing more and more work up there. So, I'm going to try living up there for a year or so, and see how it goes.

I've leased a great flat in the middle of the city; I put photos and description on the web here. I don't get the place until April 5, so I'll probably move April 10 or so.

I'm going to rent out my house in Mountain View for the next year or so. If I like living in the city and decide to stay, I'll sell the MV house and buy a place in SF. If you know anybody who might be interested in renting a very nice 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house in downtown Mountain View, please let me know or put them in touch with me; sometime in the next week or two, I'll be putting up a web page to help rent out the MV house, but for now there are a few photos online here (no, I won't have room for the pool table in SF; it'll either stay in MV, if my tenants want it and promise to take care of it, or get disassembled and stored, or get sold if somebody makes me a good offer).

Now I just need to get all the details arranged, and sort out all the junk I don't want to take with me... Ugh.

Sounds like a good idea. I have been spending more time in San Francisco and I have to say the place is growing on me.

Where's the flat you have lined up?
