Discoveries - MtnVwPilot

Jan. 9th, 2006 08:24 am Discoveries

So, I've owned my house for 6 years, including the Viking stove/oven combo in the kitchen... And I just today discovered that the stove has a drip pan under the burners, which slides out for easy cleaning of spills and overflows.

To be fair, you don't cook all that much. It's not like you've been using it every day for the past 6 years!

Yeah, but I'm the systems guy, who normally explains how everything works to everybody else... It's a real blow to my self-image to discover something like this in my own house! ;-)

I want to know what was _in_ the pan that's been sitting there all that time. Did it have legs and eyes?

Nothing but what had boiled over from a pot a few days before (note that I didn't boil over the pot; that was somebody else borrowing my stove)...

Even if I didn't know about the drip pan, apparently my housecleaner did.
