Irony of ironies... - MtnVwPilot

May. 2nd, 2006 09:30 pm Irony of ironies...

My web site, mail server, and so forth are all unreachable from the Internet right now, because one of my network provider's other customers is being hammered with bogus traffic by a distributed denial of service attack. The other customer is... LiveJournal.

So, any claims of responsibility, and justification for the attack because of offenses committed by LJ?

Whoops, that last comment was me. LJ is losing logins this morning.

Well, I didn't switch to Layer42 directly... When I moved to SF, rather than hosting my domains at home on a DSL line as I did in Mountain View, I moved them to a 1U server in a rack at 365 Main (a big datacenter in the city) run by Michael Halligan at BitPusher, and BitPusher's ISP is Layer42.

That's what I was wondering -- if you had moved to a co-lo. Interesting.
